Great SunDAY
Does anyone know why the weekend goes by so fast? It’s quite a puzzle to me…..the hours seem to just FLY by! And Sunday nights are always my least favorite night of the week. Does anyone else feel this way? I guess the start of the long work week just seems so daunting.
This morning was my first Sunday morning in MONTHS that I didn’t have to get up and run! So, to celebrate, I slept in until 10:00 (!!!) and then started my day with some baking. The perfect morning.
First order of business were Jenna’s Oh Baby bars:

I had made these for the Team Challenge pre-race party and they were a hit, so I knew just what to make to take to a certain friend for a little Christmas/house warming gift.

Then right after, I got to making Mama Pea’s dough balls:

These have been quite the rage in the food blog world so I had to see what all the fuss was about.

The only change I made was that I used Ghirardelli dark chocolate chips (and no peanut butter chips). When I asked Jay how they turned out, he only had one word:
FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC.
So, J and I pretty much ate peanut butter and chocolate all morning and day. I have a horrible habit of tasting as I bake – I would much rather eat the dough/batter than the finished product! And now my jeans do not like me. Hehe (…….but seriously, they don’t……..).
We attempted to make ourselves feel better offset the sugar coma, and went to the 4:00 Spin class at the gym. I can’t tell you the last time I took a Spin class (or any cardio class for that matter since I’m always teaching). It was GREAT! Totally kicked my azz, and I loved every minute of it.
So, even though Sunday nights are my least favorite night of the week, I had a pretty awesome SunDAY.
How was your Sunday? Do you have a least favorite night of the week?

What a delicious day
Chocolate and peanut butter never go old in my book! I really want to try those dough balls, but I HATE earth balance and I want to see if anyone has used butter instead. I have recently become addicted to/obsessed with spin. Kickass workout! I might even start teaching it, we’ll have to talk about teaching group ex since I’m new to it!
Wow, everything looks delicious! I took tomorrow off as a Christmas gift to myself so I’m planning to do some baking and Christmas shopping. Might need to make one or both of these recipes!
Looks like such a delish day. Those bars look wonderful. I really want to take a spin class but their isn’t one anywhere near me. Hopefully I`ll be able to take one when I go back to Michigan to visit my family.
xo
I taste through the entire process, too. I call it quality control.
And Sunday nights are awful. There’s so much that I feel like I want to do, but shouldn’t because I don’t have much time before I should be in bed and blah blah blah nothing ends up getting done. meh…
You know I get searches for “why does the weekend go by so fast” like everyday on my blog?
LOL.
I still don’t have the answer yet
My Sunday was great, thanks for asking Heather
We had church, brunch with friends, some napping, went window shopping with a friend, ate milkshake, then have a fabulous 5 mile run
The kids and i made puppy chow this weekend and its pretty much gone! Chocolate and Peanut butter the evil curse.
I have a new house..i hope your bringing me some of those!
mmm those bars look amazing! Great treats. Weekend baking when you have lots of time is the BEST. Sunday night is definitely my least favorite night…..SO much ahead of you- its a little overwhelming. Now, that said, I did have a nice relaxing day
Those bars tasted as good as they look!!!! And they’re mine, all mine! Thanks Heather.
And Bacon was one tuckered out pooch last night and I loved it. I am glad he finally got some more Diddy time.
Sunday was a lounge day & since there’s no school today, I guess it will be that way again-at least for the kids. I have to work
.
Sunday gym days are rare, but awesome when they happen! You deserve a break!
All the treats look delicious. And that sounds like a great day to me. Sleeping in, some yummies and then a fun spin class? Why not?!
Ditto girlie, Sundays stink! I love them for long runs, big breakfasts, and time with my man. But I hate them because they go by way too quickly!
Those bars at the top look yumlicious!
I know what you mean! I would much rather eat dough then cookies. I do in fact do that. The problem is, cookies are countable. Dough counts as nothing to me so I just keep consuming it until I fee sick.
Cookies look even better when they’re in front of Christmas lights
Sunday night is my least favorite night of the week! I always get a little grouchy knowing the weekend went by so fast
I want that snowman!
Sunday is probably my favorite day, especially during football season because my husband watches it all day and I spend it all day in the kitchen – we are both happy!
