Exercise and Cookies

Wow, thanks for the feedback on yesterday’s post. You guys give some good advice! Now I just hope that if you’re ever in my shoes that you listen and take your own advice. ;)

I know in my heart that I have to just accept my slowness right now. Otherwise I’ll never be able to finish my longer runs and that’s just flat out unacceptable. I have to make every run a quality run. No junk miles for me.

In addition to starting to run again I’m also starting to teach again! One of the ladies at my gym had to leave indefinitely due to some medical issues and they were in a bind. So I’m teaching Group Power Tuesday and Thursday nights for the time being.

Tonight was my first night back and I am feelin the after burn!! I’m getting back in shape on all ends. The weight training can only help my running so it’s back to 100% training mode. I’m kinda excited. :)

I was also excited because I received my package from Jess and Amy’s Great Blog Sweet Swap! The container looked promising:

But look what was inside:

Cookies gone granola! Stupid fedex delivery man. I swear he was just jealous he wasn’t getting any of Shanna’s oatmeal butterscotch-choc chip cookies.

A few of the cookies were still intact:

But, honestly, it didn’t matter. These things were so good that I may or may not have gone at the “granola” with a spoon. I think the entire container lasted 2 days in our house?

Good thing I’m back to running and teaching…………..hehe. Seriously, what’s life without exercise and cookies? :)

How would you phrase that question? What’s life without ________ and _______?

What’s life without family and reading. Everything else fits into and around that.

I was so jealous when she was tweeting about cooking these… they sounded amazing!

It’s like you got both cookies AND granola… it’s doubly awesome. :p

Yummm! And how fun to teach again! Hmmm… My fill in the blanks foodwise would be fresh fruit and tortilla chips

I am convinced my mail lady kicks packages to my door they are so smushed! I would have tossed the pieces into yogurt or over ice cream. I knew you would be proud of my 5k time!! Believe it or not I have only started using facebook the last couple weeks – so far behind using social media!

Oh my god! I’ve never had that happen..that’s nuts! Seriously! I had like 22 perfect cookies in there…maybe I put them in when they weren’t perfectly cooled…tragedy! I’m glad the “granola” was still good :)

YAY on going back to teaching, I bet you missed it, even a little?

I had to laugh at your comment about taking our own advice if ever injured – funny how we’re bad at taking our OWN solid advice but giving it out we’re all super stars at it, huh?

Yum… I would have added the crumbles to ice cream. What? That’s not healthy? :)

What’s life without love and chocolate?

The best thing about cookies is that even when they are all broken up, they are still delicious!

I have discovered that the only things that matter in my life are my husband and my boys. Really, as long as they are there for and with me, life is good. I hope you’re enjoying the long weekend with your men!

I am so different from most other people, that my answer is bound to be different. For example, I don’t have my own family and don’t want one, unless you count the family I was born into and its offshoots, which includes my sisters and nieces.

Anyway, what’s like without friends and food. (The friends include the family members.)

And BTW, nothing wrong with crumbled cookies. The form of whole cookies is just for show and to easily discern the size of a so-called serving. They taste the same in crumbles. Although sometimes if they are fresh-baked, they harden faster if crumbled.
