Reunited With An Old Friend

Life is good right now. For once I feel like I’m not in “training mode” – and I love it. I can do what I want, when I want, and I’m really loving it!

Which brought me back to my old friend this week:

I figure since I’m running the Cleveland 10k this year, I may as well try to run it fast. Last year I just ran for fun so I’d really like to beat that time. And the treadmill is my favorite place to do speed work!

It’s been a year since I tried to run for time, so I’m slowly getting back into it, and I’m happy with where I am right now. No pressure and no training schedule (for now – eventually there will be one).

This week so far has been AWESOME:

  • Sunday: Spinning at Psycle
  • Monday: Crossfit
  • Tuesday: Run 3 miles
  • Wednesday: Crossfit (we did double unders – my fave!)
  • Thursday: Crossfit and spinning at Psycle
  • Friday: Run or Off
  • Saturday: Crossfit

I’m looking forward to spending a lot more time on my treadmill in the next few months to get some of that speed back (well, you know, what I consider speedy!). Two to three days of running is going to be my sweet spot. Can’t wait!

What did your workouts look like this week? Any favorites?

I’ve been getting PLENTY of quality time on the tread. But yeah… when I’m not in training, it’s something that is quick and easy and relatively painless when I keep it under 4 miles…

Crossfit and spinning? You are a beast! And I love it :) What is a double under? I thought that was a typo and you meant wonder unders. I love treadmill running. Especially when it’s cold, icy, snowy out. or when it’s too hot or too dark lol.

I fell off of the workout train over the holidays and am finally getting the kick back that I need to be back in the swing of things. I trained for NYC and when it didn’t happen, I kind of bottomed out and lost all momentum… ALL momentum. I’ve worked out a really easy running plan mixed with fun barre classes and yoga to reignite the spark!

The treadmill really can be effective for speed work. I had some decent runs and got in some spin on my bike trainer.

UGG! Tread mill workout outs this week as well as back to the weights. I wish I could get excited about the treadmill but it gets so darned boring and even though I run faster than outside this time of year, time seems to go by slower than running outside. You did a lot of crossfit this week. Good for you. Well done.

I actually don’t mind the treadmill because I like the control of speed. I’ve been doing HIIT training on an app on my phone – run hard for 3 minutes, walk for 2 minutes at an incline, then repeat 7 times. My app even blows a whistle when its time to switch – love it!

    Happy Friday Heather!

Hold up… just read you were a twirler?! I twirled for near 16 years up until senior year of high school! Small world! :)
