Sometimes It Feels Like Something’s Missing
I know I CHOSE to not run the Cleveland marathon this year, but sometimes I feel like my life is missing something.
The freezing cold runs:

Long runs with one of my BFF’s:

Having an excuse to veg out all day Saturday on the couch with the pups:

Ice baths:

Wait, maybe not those.
But then I remember:
- The freezing cold runs, spending Saturday on the couch with ice (er, frozen veggies) on my knees, and the ice baths.
And I’m quickly reminded why I registered for the 10k instead of the marathon.
2013 may not be the year of the marathon for me, but there are definitely more marathons in my future.
Do you feel like anything’s missing in your life right now??

Running is an addiction!!! Im already thinking about another half
. I need to be thinking about yoga instead
LOL! I was like, “ICE BATHS?!!!!?!??!” Hee hee hee.
I feel like my life is missing some relaxation time
Meaning, non-anxiety filled time where I chill out.
You reminded me! I need to sign up for the half again!
Funny how you sort of get so engrossed in training like that – it’s tough, it hurts, it takes so much time, you grumble, but you still somehow manage to sort of miss it. It’s the routine perhaps? I think that’s why I try to keep up with a double-digit weekly even when I’m not training for anything . Because that’s normal right
Haha, Tony really needs to start putting ice bags on his knees. We are at 7 miles now and can definitely feel the wear on bodies. We are both reaching for that 13.1 though. 10k is our sweet spot. I really enjoy that number at this point.
I’m feeling pretty complete right now. That number “13″ of the “2013″ foursome keeps popping up a lot this year. Being superstitious I wasn’t expect the best of this year but…maybe I can be proven wrong.
When I realized that the marathon distance was not kind to my body after running 1 full (CLE) and training all the way through the 20 miler for a 2nd and committed to half marathons I thought I would miss training for the full distance. I missed it for about 30 seconds. No, seriously, I don’t miss it. I am focusing on getting faster in the half marathon and have 6 on my calendar this year.
I think you are being smart!
Kim
Haha – I go through that too! When I’m not training for something crazy, I sometimes fondly remember the training. And then I remember that not-crazy can also be good.
I could definitely do without the ice baths. I’ve done them after every long run so far and wow is it cold!
you’re always looking for more pain!!!!
