Running Is Hard

It’s hard to get the motivation when it’s 10 degrees outside. Even when running inside (at home) on the treadmill.

It’s hard to run on the treadmill with no tv to watch (instead, you watch the clock).

It’s hard to see how much slower you are than you used to be.

It’s hard to run more than 400m at a time now since that’s pretty much the furthest you run in any given day at Crossfit.

It’s hard to love running when so many things are hard about it.

But I still do. I love every time I’m done with a run. Love.

What is hard for you that you love??

I’m an official blogger for the 2014 Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon. I received a free entry to run the 10k in exchange for blogging about my experience. It’s my favorite race!

Running is still hard even when you run every day.

Totally know how you feel about looking at the clock. I ran at the indoor track the other night and they had a clock posted right by the track. I wasn’t feeling it for the first 15-20 minutes and the time seemed to DRAG until I hit my rhythm and had a great end to the run! Some of my best outdoor training runs and races have occurred when I forced myself to only look at my GPS watch every mile – everything seemed to pass much faster.

Its hard to drive to that swim practice, and get in the pool.
Its hard to leave the house after 7pm to go hangout with friends, because I am tired and sometimes lounging on the couch seems so much easier!
Its hard sometimes to respond with love.

Wait… sometimes LIFE is just hard, but i love it (:

Running is hard. So is anything that challenges you. For me… lately… PARENTING my children and being PRESENT is hard. You wouldn’t think so… but I find there are so many distractions in life that make this hard.

But doing HARD things challenges, grows, and makes you a better person! :)

Love this! Running has always been a challenge, but one that I am enjoying getting better at. I will be doing the 10K also – looking forward to seeing you out there! :)

You captured my thoughts exactly! This winter is sucking big time, making it even harder to stay on track. I’m a treadmill clock-watcher too…I HAVE to cover the dash up with my sweatshirt otherwise I’d go insane, lol. I’m training for the Glass City Half now, but am thinking about also doing Cleveland the following month. Do you think all the snow will be melted by then?! :o)
