Marathon Dreaming

My life sure has done a 180 when it comes to exercise.

Long distance running was my life four years ago – and now it’s all about the “wod” and clean and jerks and double unders and snatches. Lol.

But after I read this article about the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon being one of the 15 best spring marathons in the US (yay!) AND knowing that they’re revamping the course to be more on the westside, I started marathon dreaming.

Always and forever my favorite moment of the 2010 Cleveland Marathon.

I started to think “If I ever came out of marathon retirement, which race would I run?”

  • I’ve always been intrigued by the Vermont City Marathon. I’ve never been to Vermont and I hear it’s beautiful!
  • I wouldn’t mind running Chicago again. The crowd support was ridiculous!
  • And, of course, Cleveland. My most favorite marathon memory and best race to date!

Will it happen again? Probably not – my knees aren’t that great these days. But if it does, Cleveland will be my first choice – I’m sure of it!

What’s your favorite race memory??

I’m an official blogger for the 2014 Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon. I received a free entry to run the 10k in exchange for blogging about my experience. It’s my most favorite race!

I think my best race memory was my first ever half marathon. It’s hard to beat that first feeling of accomplishment.

Love Love Love that picture ! ! ! It was my second favorite race that you have run. Only taking the back seat to Chicago because I was able to see both my daughters run together and support each other through the race and see Jay jump in and run the last of the race with you both — so much Love was seen at that race that day and one of my proudest moments as your mom.

Vermont City was my first (and only!) marathon and it was awesome. Well executed race, beautiful scenery, multiple stops to the original Ben & Jerry’s and a trip to Magic Hat Brewery!
