Time for the new season of Team Challenge to start!
Tonight was one of the couple informational meetings for the spring season. We will be participating in the Wine Country Virginia Half Marathon on June 4th.
According to the race website:
The newest Wine Country Half course is destined to be a favorite and one of the most scenic half marathons anywhere. The race starts amongst the vineyards at Breaux Vineyards and takes runners on a scenic journey past hillside vineyards, expansive horse farms, and historic estates. Runners will enjoy a fast and peaceful 13.1 course on winding country roads often covered by canopy trees. The finish takes runners past historic Hillsboro and into Doukenie Winery where the celebration begins at the post-race Wine & Music Festival featuring local vintners, brewers and culinary delights.
Sounds beautiful, doesn’t it?? Hey, I’m all for a race that offers wine before and afterwards!
It was the first meeting J and I attended together.
It was definitely a lot different (but good!).
We both got up in front of the potential participants and spoke about our experiences with Team Challenge and what to expect during training. I was definitely a lot more confident this time around (compared to my first meeting!).
But, it was especially nice seeing my friends from last season. I’ve missed them!!!!!
Training for the half marathon begins February 13th. I’m taking it easy on my leg until then – I want/need to be 100% for the Team. I’ll have more information and details about my knee/leg after my next doctor appointment this Friday. Please keep your fingers crossed for me!!
Tell me – what are you looking forward to this weekend? I’m looking forward to sleeping in on Sunday and having a nice brunch with some of my favorites blogging besties……
If you are in the NorthEast Ohio area and are interested in joining the Team this season, shoot me an email and I’ll send you the information!
